Coronavirus (COVID-19) – Latest updates

Business as usual notice

18th March 2020

It’s business as usual for Mike Lane Mods

Much of the world is battling with the coronavirus crisis at the moment, including here in the UK. So naturally, some people are wondering about how this affects their orders from me. I’m in the fortunate position of working virtually in isolation, so rest assured that despite the uncertain and unprecedented times it’s business as usual. I’ll continue to work hard getting your orders out to you as quickly as possible.

There may of course be some delays in arrivals because of disruption to postal services. Royal Mail have a page dedicated to this here: https://www.royalmail.com/coronavirus. So I appreciate your patience and understanding if you need to wait a little longer than usual. But please be assured that I’m doing all I can to get orders to you as soon as possible.

This is a worrying time for many people but continuing normal life where it’s possible and safe to do so is important. I have lots of exciting new products on their way very soon so I’ll be focused on getting these ready for release. With social distancing in place here and elsewhere, model building is one of those pleasures we can still enjoy, and I for one, intend to carry on.

If you still have queries or concerns, below is a link to a helpful FAQ’s page containing the most common questions I receive about ordering during the coronavirus:

COVID-19 contactless delivery information from DPD Group

Updated 18th April 2020

Royal Mail and DPD are both adopting ‘contactless delivery’ to ensure safe delivery to your door.

In order to both protect themselves and you as much as possible, Royal Mail and DPD are minimising contact during delivery. They won’t be passing over their hand-held devices to capture signatures but instead they will log the name of the person accepting the item. Additionally, for items that won’t fit through your letterbox, they will place the item at your door. Having knocked on your door, they will then step back to a safe distance while you retrieve your item. This will ensure your item is delivered securely rather than being left outside.

Royal Mail remains open for business

Updated 24th March 2020

The Post Offices here in the UK remain open as an essential service allowing me to continue dispatching orders as normal.

I have been assured by Royal Mail that services are running normally but to expect some delays overseas for countries where stricter restrictions are in place. This is understandable, and they have reassured me that all parcels will work their way through the network and will arrive in due course.

With this in mind all overseas parcels from this point forward will be sent on a tracked service to give peace-of-mind to everyone in these uncertain times.

This post will be updated regularly if anything changes. If you have any concerns please feel free to contact me directly with any questions, but for now it’s business as usual!

As always, thank you all for your orders and support. I wish you all good health as we all pull through this crisis.

Take care, Mike

Mike Lane
