Magnetic Wheel Caps
£18.00 ex VAT
These magnetic wheel caps have been specially designed to replace the plastic wheel caps supplied with the 1:8 Eaglemoss DeLorean Time Machine.
They give you quick easy access to the screws for when you need to remove the wheels.
Produced to the highest standard with metallic silver print and durable black coating, these magnets both look and function better than their plastic counterparts.
Other than removing the existing plastic caps if you’ve already installed them, there is no setup or pre-installation required. They are immediately compatible with your model and will work right out of the box.
They are also ‘hover-mode’ compatible, meaning they won’t fall out if you choose to display your model with the wheels down.
- 5 x Magnetic wheel caps (4 + 1 spare)
- 1 x Magnetic tab (for removing the magnetic wheel caps)
- 1 x Illustrated set of instructions
- Double-sided to allow for likelihood of different magnetic poles behind each wheel
- Hover-mode compatible
- Designed to fit the wheel hubs perfectly
- Metallic silver print and durable black coating
When would I need these?
There are a number of reasons why you may find yourself needing to remove the wheel caps, such as for tightening the wheels or removing for repairs.
Eaglemoss also provide some fantastic alternative wheels for this model, such as the ‘white wall tyres’ and ‘train track wheels’. Unfortunately, whilst these are great additions to the build, Eaglemoss provide no method of removing the plastic wheel caps once installed making them practically impossible to swap over. With these magnetic wheel caps you will be able to easily swap between all variations of wheels, damage-free!
These magnetic wheel caps also serve as great replacements for already damaged or misplaced wheel caps.
How can I remove the plastic wheel caps if i’ve already installed them?
Once installed, removing the plastic wheel caps is practically impossible without damaging them in the process.
Fortunately however, these new magnetic caps serve as higher quality replacements so damaging the existing plastic wheel caps during removal should be of no concern.
Avoid trying to prize the caps free from the sides as this risks damaging the wheel hub. My recommendation is to remove the caps directly from the front by making a small pilot hole and using a screw to pull them free. This is detailed within the instructions provided with this kit. This will of course destroy the plastic caps in the process but will more importantly protect the rest of the model.
