Extension Cables
£8.00 – £12.00 ex VAT
What others have to say about this:
Helpful for extending a number of common cables used in partwork and build-up models.
At a convenient length of 150mm, these high quality cables are designed to provide just enough extra length without taking up too much room within your build – particularly helpful during later stages of builds where cables often don’t reach or are uncomfortably tight.
Each cable is supplied as a male-to-female extension, in a custom, stylish and discreet black and grey design – important when your cables may be visible (like on the Hero Collector Ecto-1 roof rack for instance).
Being male-to-female, you can even connect them to each other for longer extensions – daisy chaining them to whichever length you require. This can be particularly helpful for testing all your wiring as it allows for your model to be connected in two halves sitting side by side.
With these connectors being so common amongst all build-up models, these extension cables are an incredibly handy addition to any partwork modeller’s tool box. I find myself being grateful for these little things with almost every build.
Model-specific advice
Fanhome Knight Rider KITT
At Issue 66 a number of cables are too short and are unable to comfortably reach the mainboard. A minimum 1 x Full extension kit is recommended for this build.
The extension cables help to reduce strain on short cables, and also allow the top and bottom halves of KITT to sit beside each other for testing motor and lights at Stage 87 – rather than having to connect the two halves on top of each other.
Fanhome Ghostbusters Ecto-1
At Issue 32 you’ll be asked to run a series of cables up to the roof inside the blue tubing (parts 121F x 2). These cables just about reach, but it’s a frustrating part of the build as they are uncomfortably short and fiddly to connect. Connecting the top half of the model to the bottom half is also extremely difficult with the standard length of cables. You’ll be very grateful to have a couple of full extension kits to hand for this stage, it makes life a whole lot easier! I recommend extending each roof cable with a ‘Type A’ cable from my full extension kit (you’ll need 5 x Type A cables) before feeding them up through the blue tubing. A minimum 1 x Full extension kit is recommended for this build.
Features:
- Reduces strain on cables
- More comfortable when building and handling model
- Great for testing and for final installation

These are a lifesaver! There are a few cables that are way too short on KITT the knight rider subscription model and these made life so much easier. Thank you for making these! As always Mike Lane Mods are number 1 for all your model needs

The cable extenders are so needed. I no longer have to reroute cables when they are too short. Mike always makes the most useful items. These are a quality product and if you are doing the Delorean, buy a bunch of these. They fix the designers mistakes and, as in my case, builders mistakes. I have used them in several builds so far. I may be short of skills, but I will never be short of a cable.
