This final kit in the series, includes a motorised HVAC unit, cross-section sensitivity unit, hoses and final roof box detailing – along with all the necessary screws and fixings.
True to the original
The appearance of these final roof box components has again been carefully matched to the Ecto-1 from the original, first Ghostbusters movie, which differs slightly to the more recently restored Ectomobile.
The fan assembly above the HVAC unit, for example, was originally white, and was only painted black in later restorations. Even the DANGER stickers on the sniffer differed slightly on the original Ecto compared to the later ones.
Motorised HVAC unit
The HVAC unit features a motorised, whisper-quiet fan which spins up together with the motorised sniffer and radar dish – all powered directly from the model’s stock power supply via the easily accessible roof cables.
The HVAC ‘DANGER’ stickers
Another variation across Ectomobiles relates to the HVAC ‘DANGER’ stickers. These stickers surface in later restorations and on some early backlot photos of the abandoned Ecto-1 – one on the side and one on the front of the HVAC unit. However, these stickers were never visible on the original Ecto-1 in either of the Ghostbusters movies.
The Texas Instruments cross-section sensitivity unit
The cross-section sensitivity unit within this kit is another piece crammed full of detail. This part includes all the necessary ribbed hoses and dials, and even the spot weld marks along the top.
Radome antenna aerials
This kit also includes the two missing aerials for the Radome Antenna. These simply glue into place on the antenna base plate.
Front heat sinks
Faithful to the original Ecto-1, the front heat sinks in this kit are painted black. The heat sinks were only painted silver later on in life.
A ribbon cable and detailing cord is also included to match the heat sinks exactly to the original.
Completion coin
Kit 4 includes an exclusive, individually numbered coin with a display stand. Hand made here in the workshop, each coin is a personal thank you from Mike Lane for choosing to complete your Ecto-1 with these special kits.
