This bulkhead storage lid, complete with red ‘bailout’ ball and wire, adds even more accuracy and detail to the interior of your 1:8 DeLorean Time Machine.
Using exact measurements from the original, the lid is perfectly to scale and sits neatly behind the driver’s seat, just like in the real Hero ‘A’ car.
The lid also includes a metal keyhole and the same scale carpet material as my other DeLorean carpet sets. With a 3M self-adhesive backing, the lid is quick and easy to install.
Also included is the ‘bailout’ ball and wire you see hanging over the storage lid in the original DeLorean Time Machine. Constructed from high-quality materials, including a ceramic red ball and scale, coiled steel wire.
Attaching the wire
The ball and wire hangs from the red ‘bailout bottle’ on the bulkhead shelf above and requires a small 0.8mm hole to be drilled into the plastic part attached to the end. This is a straightforward and easy process. I would recommend obtaining a small modelling hand drill if you don’t own one already, like this one for example available on Amazon: https://tinyurl.com/y5mejeka.

I really thought this was going to be hard to install but it went really well. I’m mega-impressed with how much of a dynamic impact this mod creates and if you are also using the carpet mods (which is a must) the hatch and bailout wire look like they should have been a part of the default build. It just gives your time machine that extra something. Well done Mike, this is really cool!

A small but much-needed improvement. The storage lid is simple to install and really adds that sense of authenticity to the Delorean. It looks, without a doubt, a million times better than the speakers included that weren't even in the movie car. The bailout ball and wire are also another great improvements.
