Moulded from solid, rare earth neodymium, these high-quality printed magnets correct the design on the standard plastic wheel caps supplied with the model, whilst also allowing quick, easy access to the screws behind the wheels.
Each magnet is produced to the highest standard with a chrome finish and metallic silver paints used to accurately match the design on each cap, exactly as they looked on the original Ghostbusters Ecto-1. They are also extremely powerful, so you can rest assured that they won’t fall out of your model.
The plastic caps provided with the model incorrectly use a full-colour Cadillac logo, whereas they should in fact be in black, white and silver to be authentic to the original Ecto-1.
Other than removing the existing plastic caps if you’ve already installed them, there is no set-up or pre-installation required for this mod. The wheel caps are immediately compatible with your model and will work right out of the box.

Why and when would I need these?
Other than the design being updated to accurately match the originals, there are a number of reasons why you may find yourself needing to remove the wheel caps, such as for tightening the wheels or removing for repairs.
In later stages of the build (stage 121 for instance), the instructions actually request that you remove the caps, so these are hugely useful for situations like this. These magnetic wheel caps also serve as great replacements for already damaged or misplaced wheel caps.
How can I remove the plastic wheel caps if I've already installed them?
Removal of the plastic wheel caps is a straightforward, simple process but it can be difficult to do without damaging them. Fortunately, these new magnetic caps serve as higher quality replacements so damaging the existing plastic wheel caps during removal should be of no concern.
You may find that turning the wheels on their side and giving them a tap from behind will loosen the caps free. Otherwise, you will need to either prize them free using a pin or a small blade, or to avoid damaging the rims you can glue a small screw to the front of the cap, let dry and then pull free.

Important: Neodymium magnets are much stronger than ordinary magnets and pose a danger to children, heart pacemakers and magnetically sensitive items. Before using these magnets, please refer to the included ‘Magnet Safety’ insert regarding the safe use and storage of your magnets.

Mike has once again outdone himself here. Apart from the perfect appearance and the ingenious magnet technology, handling is also extremely easy. Yes, it's a nice-to-have and 90% of the people who look at your model would never tell the difference between the original and the Eaglemoss-supplied hubcap, but I'll see it every time you go to the Wagen looks and grins on both cheeks ... and that's all that matters.
