Metal Drilled Brake Discs
£16.00 – £18.00 ex VAT
Installation instructions
Please refer to the step-by-step photos here on this page for additional installation guidance.
- Remove the front wheels if installed
- Remove the brake disc assemblies
- Remove parts 3G and 9G from the brake disc assemblies
- Place the black vinyl stickers onto the front surface of parts 3G and 9G
- To avoid leaving finger prints, hold the metal brake discs by their sides and place into position over parts 3G and 9G
- Re-assemble the brake disc assemblies
- Re-attach the front wheels
Designed especially for the front wheels of KITT, this pair of all-metal drilled and grooved brake discs are held into place behind the front brake callipers – without the need for any glue!
Installation is quick and easy, and immediately adds a higher level of detail to the brake discs of the front wheels.
For the silver brake discs, black vinyl stickers are provided to place behind the brake discs – giving the effect of added depth through the drilled holes.
Like so many other parts of the model, the brake discs will eventually become mostly obscured as the build advances. However, this is a detail that’s nice to know is there and greatly improves on the look of the rather boring plastic parts that come with the model.
The brake discs do become visible through the wheels when the hub caps are removed – so if you’re using my magnetic hub cap conversion kit (available here) you’ll enjoy these more than most!
Whilst completely optional, the black brake discs look most effective with painted black callipers, alongside my calliper transfers – available here.
Painting tip:
For painting the vented plastic disc behind the metal brake discs, I would recommend a coat of Tamiya Fine Surface Primer, followed by two coats of Tamiya TS-6 Matt Black.
For painting your callipers, I would recommend a coat of Tamiya Fine Surface Primer, followed by two coats of Tamiya TS-14 Gloss Black.
These are just my recommendations, you can of course opt for your own choice of paints. I would recommend acrylics and for the best overall effect use a gloss black for the calliper, and a matt black for the vented brake discs.

素晴らしいクオリティですが、回転方向が一方向しか無く取り付けると左右で回転方向が逆になってしまいます、今後の商品作りの参考までに。

Another winner! Installation was a breeze and the drilled brake discs add a nice, subtle touch to the wheels. I'm loving the mods so far for KITT!
