Programmed to precisely match the original Ghostbusters Ecto-1, this impressive kit features accurate double, single and alternate strobe patterns with memory function – all controlled via a tiny button hidden within the front bumper.

Add some spirit to your Ecto-1 build
Controlled via a custom mini strobe controller discreetly hidden within the front bumper, this easy-to-install kit has been designed to faithfully match how the Ecto-1 strobes flash in the original movies and on later restored Ectomobiles.
Whilst the stock model includes the strobe ‘housings’, they don’t include the strobe LEDs themselves for the front bumper. And the roof strobe LED included is inaccurate with it’s flashing sequence. This kit fixes these inaccuracies and missing electronics.
The mini strobe controller has an easy-to-access mode-changing button, memory function and off mode – easily accessible by reaching under the front bumper.
Bumper (anti-collision) strobe patterns
- Mode 1: Double (Double flash L and double flash R) – Matching the restored Ectomobile
- Mode 2: Single (Single flash L and single flash R) – Matching how the strobes flash in some scenes in the original Ghostbusters
- Mode 3: Alternate (Double flash L, single flash R, alternate and repeat) – Overall, this is the most accurate and visually impressive effect matching how the original Ghostbusters Ectomobile appears in most scenes
- Mode 4: Firehouse Reveal – An exact mix of alternating double and single flashes precisely matching the strobe pattern of the Ecto-1 when revealed for the first time leaving the Firehouse

- Double (Double flash with pause and repeat) – Matching the original Whelen HRDF-200 strobe on the Ghostbusters Ectomobile

Found it tricky to the underside of the front bumper without the risk of damaging the board and wiring so relocated the controller and wiring to under the bonnet. Excellent must have mod that adds life to the model that really should have been there from the start. Well worth the tear down to install, cants stop looking at it.

This is my favorite mod from Mike, and I've purchased a lot over the years. The quality and presentation of these modifications are outstanding, significantly enhancing the model.
Installation was a breeze, and the mod performs exceptionally well. I was genuinely surprised that the original build didn’t include this feature. The inclusion of a button for different strobe effects, just like in the movies, showcases incredible attention to detail. If you’re building an Ecto-1, this is an absolute must-have!
