The painting steps recommended as part of this upgrade are completely optional, but will greatly increase the accuracy of your model.
This upgrade for the doors and rear sail panels further enhances the accuracy and appearance of KITT’s interior.
Supplied in three high quality materials, each carefully matched to it’s corresponding panel and designed to look as close to the real thing as possible.
This set corrects two key areas of KITT’s interior. Firstly, the unsightly white sail panels at the rear of the model’s interior, and secondly, the door panels — with better, more accurate materials together with domed door panel badges. Exactly how they appeared in KITT.
The kit also includes felt protective strips for the windows to replace the vinyl strips provided with the model. The felt strips help to prevent scratches to the windows when opening and closing them into the door panel.
Made from bespoke materials, the self-adhesive carpet pieces have a realistic look and feel to them and have been designed to install in seconds — providing an immediate enhancement.
The door badges are again closely matched at scale to that found on KITT’s door panels — visible in numerous episodes of Knight Rider if you have a keen eye, but missing from the Fanhome model.
Whilst completely optional, step-by-step instructions are provided for painting selected parts of the door panels to further improve the accuracy.

Well Mike Lane has done it again, another great upgrade. The instructions for the pain that are optional, but lets face it, if your going to do the upgrade you will do the painting as well. I found for the silver the Tamiya Color X-11 CHROME SILVER works just as good.
